[Guide] Whispering Gms. Reporting Hackers, tips, tricks.

A GM's first priority is to ban hackers and bug abusers- anything additional they do for you, such as respawning you when you die and get glitched, is not their responsibility. GMs will respawn you if they have time and if they're not afk- yes, they do go afk, and not all GMs do respawn requests.

Know that some GMs have their whispers turned off. PMS does not currently tell you when you send a whisper and the player has their whispers turned off, so you won't know if a GM has turned off their whisper. They blocked whispers due to the sheer amount of respawn requests- they're unable to handle cheater logs and ban effectively.

Reminder: a GM's main priority is to handle hackers- not to unglitch your character- it's just something considerate they do for you when they have time.

Tips for whispering GMs:
1) Get to the Point: Fit as much as you can in ONE whisper. Be short and to the point. Do NOT whisper them to just say "hi" or for idle chit chat. I can't stress the last part enough- again, reporting bugs, asking for spawns or events... NO.
2) Reporting Hackers: If you're reporting a hacker, report the hacker's ign if you can, and preferably in all caps. If they're offmap, after you report, try to stay on the same map & channel for a minute or two so they can warp to your location.
3) No Response: If the hacker is still there after a few minutes and he's hacking very obviously (such as doing 7k dmg when he/she is lvl 12), whisper the GM again or try a different GM. Try again after a few minutes if the hacker is still there- reports don't count as spam, so don't worry about them getting mad. If the hacker is no longer there, thanks for trying, but the GMs usually have to catch them in the act. Don't worry though- they'll get them- they usually start again and get caught.


Try not to do this:
[whisper] ZOMG HACKER
[whisper] he is teh offmap!
[whisper] come quick!!!! b& b& b&
[whisper] warphere now!
[whisper] all the monsters are gone!!

Try this:
[whisper] Hacker here offmap vaccing
or,
[whisper] <hacker's name here> damage hacking. <location>


Things to know:
1) Alert GM Function: currently does NOT work. This is why it's best to whisper a GM to report a hacker- and extremely important that you not whisper them for redundant things. If you don't have a screen or they're no longer online, there's a low likelihood of the hacker being banned, because GMs only ban when they see the person hack themselves.
2) Stat Resets: GMs will NOT reset your stats. You'll just have to wait until AP/Sp stat resets come out.
3) How to become GM?: If you have to ask a GM how you become a GM or Mod, most likely you won't be getting the job. It just makes you seem uninformed. Helpful members of the community will be recognized and chosen based on their contribution, not because you spammed "i want to be a GM" 50 times.
4) Bug Reports: ONLY whisper GMs with critical unknown bugs such as duping!. If it's a somewhat important bug, but not critical, feel free to whisper a GM they will be more responsive and can help escalate the issue if need be.
