Magic Guard doesn't seem to work. Whenever I use it my HP keeps going down even thought I have full MP.

Did you try relogging in? If that doesn't work, check your hp status some people's hp is 10k extra and sometimes it goes down for no apparent reason. Zonith said that the update would fix all bugs on Jobs 1,2.
